The Comforter is among us

John 14:15,16,17 - If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Today on Pentecost Sunday we are celebration the day when the Holy Spirit manifested in power on the Apostles.

If you read John 20:21-22 Jesus breathed on the Apostles and said receive the Holy Spirit.

John 20:21-22
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit:

So what happened on the Day of Pentecost (Pentecost means Harvest - it was a feast celebrated by the Israelites)?

On that day the Apostles were very lost, helpless and afraid; therefore gathered together and waited as per Jesus' instructions. In this situation they totally surrender to the Lord and therefore received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

We too have received the Holy Spirit because we believe in Jesus Christ, but many among us are not baptized in the Holy Spirit because we have not surrendered ourselves.

Today all those who have not experienced the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, I invite you to surrender in helplessness for the Comforter is already among us. He will manifest in power in you and baptize you.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord Jesus, we thank You for giving us your Spirit to comfort us and guide us. Lord help us surrender to your Spirit for many among us want to be baptized by your Spirit. Holy Spirit come upon me. Set your Fire over me and baptize me. I believe in Jesus Christ and have received the promise of Jesus Christ. Set yourself throne with Fire in this temple...

This I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]

Acts 1:3-8
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Today as we celebrate the feast of Pentecost I like to wish renew and additional fire of the Holy Spirit be upon each one of you. Those not baptized receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

On this day I thank Sister Cheryl Balwani to allow me to give away one of the tracks of her album 'The Right Path' as a gift to all on this feast.
