According to your works

Revelation 2:23 - .. I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

Many people are going to be in for a great surprise after death. Christians have taken God for granted because all believe that they are saved by grace.

I have pointed out in my many mails by faith we tap into the grace made available through Jesus Christ, which saves us. This grace saves from hell but does not save us from facing the Lord Jesus Christ on the Judgment Day, when all mankind will have to stand before the Throne. It is this day the Lord will decide who enters Heaven and who are cast in the lake of fire.

If it was just by grace we enter Heaven, then we would not have had a Judgment Day. If we are forgiven forever then we would not have had the sinful nature still in us and we would not have had to fight it nor would we have needed the Helper (Holy Spirit), or the Church, or need to grow the Fruit(s) of the Holy Spirit, or needed callings.

On the Judgment Day books are going to be opened wherein all that is in our hearts will also be there in those books. The Lord records all that we do and all that we speak with other things in these books. If we are forgiven for something then those are erased from these books. Also when we are born again or baptized in Jesus Christ all our past bad records are erased and then onwards records are again maintained.

So let us be aware and take caution in all that we feel and do; not take the grace of God for granted.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, forgive us if we have taken the sacrifice of Jesus for granted. Forgive us O merciful God for our iniquities. Help us Lord to overcome ourselves and to bring back your image in us. Help us bring Christ in us...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Hebrew 10:26-31
26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot,
counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people."
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Ezekiel 33:30-31
30 "As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother, 'Please come and hear what the word is that comes from the LORD.'
31 "So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.

Revelation 20:12-15
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
