Give place unto anger

Roman 12:19 - Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

From childhood as Christians we are told to disassociate from anger totally. This thinking has deprived us all from been a true Christian, for every Christian needs to get angry, not against man but against evil and evil doings in man. In fact, one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is slow to angry, which has been also translated as patience.

This anger should not be our anger but the Lord's anger that we should channelize to the evil. If we hold our anger, it will hurt us more than to the evil in man, but the Lord's anger will destroy it from its root. During this we should not just sit ideal but on our part we should accelerate the Lord's anger on the evil by showing kindness unto the person in whom this evil is operating.

So let us all be angry Christians letting the Lord's anger come upon evil in man. And let us accelerate this by showing kindness unto those who try to hurt us.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord, forgive me for the times I tried to show my anger and not let your anger destroy the evil in man. Give me the strength to endure and to show kindness unto those that try to hurt me. Quicken your wrath on the evil in them destroying it from its root. I ask this in your mighty Name, Amen.
