Jesus perfected and exceeded Moses

Mark 3:13-15
13 And he goeth up into the mountain, and calleth unto him whom he himself would; and they went unto him. 14 And he appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out demons:

If one looks at things which Jesus and Moses did to start their ministry (concerning the people of God) from a bird's eye view, you will see what Moses did was the shadow of what Jesus did.

Both started their prime activity by first going up into the mountain communicating with God and both set off with twelve. Moses divided the people of Israel into twelve tribes and Jesus set forth His ministry via His twelve disciples. In the case of Moses when the Levies were set apart the sons of Joseph were divided and the twelve numbers maintained. Similarly in the case of Jesus' team when Judas died Matthias was added so that the numbers were maintained, even when Solomon who was well instructed by his father David also set his rule of his kingdom via his 12 officers.

Without the twelve tribes Israel could not enter their Promised Land and we without our twelve cannot enter Heaven. It is not because twelve was a good number or we also need to be divided by the number. This was done so that we do the real thing which they imitated. The number twelve represents the twelve Fruit(s) of the Holy Spirit which are the pillars or what Heaven is build on. Nine of them are as stated by Paul in Galatians 5:22-23 and are those which we can receive and grow on in this world. The balance three (also stated by Paul in Ephesians 5:9 are righteousness, truth and holiness) are those which Adam and Eve lost in the Garden of Eden when they disobeyed God. These fruits are those for which Jesus Christ sacrificed so that by His sacrifice and Spirit we may be able to pursue them and receive them from Him. Without these Fruit(s) our spirits are considered corrupt and a corrupt spirit cannot enter the Upper Heavens where the glory of God is. This is required for the lower heavens which include the world we live in, the spiritual level known as grave and hell where the unbelieving souls go after death will all cease to exist and the whole of Heaven will be realigned.

Moses was given authority which was symbolized by the rod he held. The Levies who were priest had authority via the Ark of Covenant which they bore. Jesus gave us authority by the knowledge of Him and by the CROSS (not crucifix) which we carry (therefore to understand the real CROSS we need to study the Ark of Covenant and its design). For both, without this being done their purpose was lost and that purpose was to do with driving away and destroying demons or fallen angels.

You may ask, what were the Israelites to do with demons? The Israelites needed this authority so that they can crossover and defeat the Canaanites and other tribes which dwelled in the Promised Land. We need to have this authority for we too need to enter our Promise Land which is Heaven and be part of the Body of God the Son which was once held by Satan and his fallen Angels and which they try to keep away from us.

It is very important we mature our faith to the point of fullness which is to have authority and this is only possible by the knowledge of who Christ is and by our carrying our (the) CROSS.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You sent Moses and others to give us required resources and the understanding of how we can come back unto You. When they could not deliver this fully so You came Yourself as man and made it possible to us to be successful. With You leading us our success is already written. Lord we pray that we be among those who are with You in the victory. That we may not perish but receive eternal life in You...

This prayer we make in your Mighty Name, Amen.
