Behold The Lamb who takes away the SIN of the world

John 1:29 - The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

In his letters Paul is very clear in his definition of sins and sin. Sins, is the wrong doings we have done which are against the will of God, and sin is the nature we inherited from Adam that makes us to sin.

The sacrifice of Jesus washed away all our sins the day we received Him and are baptized in Him. But after that we have not remained holy. The moment we step in this world we land up sinning. This is because the nature of sin that is in us.

This is the reason that Jesus even after his sacrifice made arrangements to solve this problem, He sent us His Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God in us helps us overcome this nature of sin. It is when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit the work to put this nature to death and put on the new nature of Christ STARTS. I said STARTS.

But during this process temporary arrangement is made to give relief to us for sins we do not know we have committed; Jesus comes to us as the Lamb of God. Receiving the Lamb of God regularly is very important for this battle of overcoming sin in us. We can not receive this holy sacrifice in unholy manner. So we need to clean ourselves by reconciling or asking forgiveness of the sins we are aware, rest the sacrifice does the job for us.

Therefore the Body we receive when we take the broken bread is very important in this battle over sin in us.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You are Father of Mercy. You know how weak we are. By the sacrifice of your Son You washed away our sins. You knew the time we would need to overcome by your Spirit the sinful nature in us. You gave us your Son as a Lamb to receive regularly to reinforce us during this battle. We thank You for this sacrifice and ask You to bring the sacredness of this sacrifice to our knowledge every time we receive it...

We ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen

1 Corinthians 15:3
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Galatians 1:3-4
3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Romans 7:17-23
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

1 Corinthians 11;27-30
27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
