The Lord is my Shepherd

Psalms 144:1,2 - Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth [moderates] my people under me.

Let me share something I rarely shared with people. Very long time back, about 25 years back when I was yet a Catholic, a namesake Christian, believing in a religion like the worldly people and was far from knowing God. I had gone to place like a retreat center called Tabor in Mumbai. My father had taken me along with my other family members mainly because my brother in law and sister were facing a great tribulation in their lives. At this place although I was not close to God yet the Lord gave me a vision for the first time (even the preacher on stage mentioned about it). The things I saw in that vision I only understood many years later, almost 18 years later when I was baptized in Spirit in the Lord.

In the vision the Lord showed me my great harvest and how the Lord would use me to bring them unto His Holy Mountain. The harvest was so great that at that time I would just not believe it would be possible in any means, but today I know the Lord is working in me and through me so greatly that I can see the coming of my harvest. People may not know me but yet the Lord has used me to impact their lives.

Today is a special day for me and the Lord has never failed to do something extraordinary for me on this day every year. Today I had yet not prayed and asked for the Lord for this coming year for myself and as I picked the message for the day for all I was moved, for the Lord was tell speaking to me directly. This message could also be for those who have prayed to the Lord asking Him to speak to you today.

What touched me most in today's message are the last words 'He moderates the people He has given unto me'. We like foolish people worry about those whom we go to preach and minister to. We go with the Lord but then we do the craziest things like telling the Lord to stand back while we try to handle the situation, or advising the Lord on how the situation needs to be handled.

In my minister years I have experienced the craziest of situations, I have done things (as instructed by the Lord) which are just unimaginable. I have seen His Hand so strong with me, so much that I really feel at times the Lord is making a mistake with choosing an unworthy person like me. Last Sunday the Lord spoke to me about this during the Sunday service and told me about Moses. How He allowed Moses to be taken as an infant unto the Egyptians. He grew up doing all the pagan things of the Egyptians yet the eyes of the Lord were on him. Moses did not choose his destination but yet the Lord had a purpose of taking him through it. Moses knew more of life of Egyptian than most Egyptian at that time did. But the moment Moses' heart moved to the real Lord, the Lord moved into his life and worked in him, and through him the Lord did the greatest of wonders the Bible records.

The Lord is speaking to those whose hearts are truly seeking Him, today can be your day, when the Lord starts changing your life and fulfilling the purpose He made you. For this He will draw you away from the world and take you through a desert, transform you and bring you back with power and authority. If you are ready, tell the Lord 'take my hand and lead me, I will go wherever You take me, I may not understand but my trust is in you for I know when You are with me I will have victory walk before me'.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, what is man that You take note of him. We are no more than an insect or a worm before You but yet You love us so much and call us Sons. You have kept things unimaginable by any human mind, and You are teaching us how to value it. Lord, we thank You for everything, from the smallest to the greatest thing You have done in our lives. As we move ahead we know You are with us, and as Moses said if You do not lead us we do not want to go. Lord, we do not want to live even a moment of life if You are not with us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
