Fellowship unto strength

Acts 28:14 - Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

In the Bible every word has great significance. Even the names of people and places do give great understanding and discloses the hidden things of the Kingdom of God.

If one tracks the journey of Paul, the ports or places he went through according the things happening in his ministry, we would be in for a great surprise. They give understanding which will help minister people and understand spiritual situations.

The Greek word 'Rome' means 'strength' so today's scripture talks of Paul and his associates meeting some brethren who stayed with them, they fellowshipped with each other in Holy Spirit (symbolized by the number seven as in seven days) and they walked unto strength (grew in faith).

If we read when the Church received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost the glory of God was on then and fear came upon the other people because the Church abided by the ways of the Lord. If we read what they did, then we would know why the glory of God was on them. Acts 2:42 says firstly they consistently grew in understanding through the teachings of the Apostles. Secondly they grew in fellowshipping with each other. Thirdly they broke bread which symbolizes giving oneself unto one another like Jesus did unto us, in other words meaning serving each other. Fourthly they came together in prayer.

Our Church struggles because we do not follow this order and priority that is why we are a fragile body that cracks at the slightest tremble. People in Church put prayer at the top. I am not against pray but since they do not have the understanding of scriptures they pray for things that go against the Word of God and the principles of God. Their prayers are hollow for their relationships with each other are hollow. Their prayers are just vain words without action for they do not give themselves unto each other and that is why they are rarely heard.

We the people of God should know after the understanding of the Word of God the most important things for us is our love for each other and then serving each other, praying for each other comes after that. Praying and fasting are like humbug if we are only words without knowledge of the Kingdom of God and not driven by actions.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are one and are an example of the oneness we need to be. Lord, we pray we grow in love for each other and this love be the Agape love, a love that builds others and is selfless. We pray we get our priorities right...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Acts 2:41-47
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

[Jesus commanded this to His disciples not once but four times]

John 13:34 - A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John 13:35 - By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 15:12 - This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.

John 15:17 - These things I command you, that ye may love one another.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
