Do not be a cause of hardening the hearts of others

Hebrew 12:14,15,16 - Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

As I sat to write today's message I was discussing with others in my family. I wanted to do something which I knew was right (perfect) and others wanted to do something which I knew was wrong; which they were in the dark of. I took a firm stand that I would do which is right irrespective of what they do. But as I prayed for today's message I got Hebrew 12:14. Immediately I soften my stand and after discussing with them I managed to get to do what I wanted and yet I did not cause any offence to them.

Even if I got them to do what I knew is right not with a right heart it would be of opposite consequence. Our aim should be to guide a person to the right destination, but at times we may have to overlook the small integrities along the walk.

Jesus knew many things which his disciples and the Jews living during his time on earth were doing wrong. But He did not point fingers to each and every mistake they did. Which were non-compromising He pointed them out and other times He tolerated them with very mild rebukes at times.

We imitating the Good Shepherd should not punish or hurt His sheep for every mistake they make or are about to make. We should show the same grace and mercy which the Lord showed unto us when we were in the dark.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You are merciful God. You are the Father of Mercy. You showered unto us abundant grace through your Son Jesus Christ. Lord, help us to show the same mercy and grace unto others and not be a cause of hardening their hearts...

This we ask in your Mighty Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
