Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 13:14 - But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

The text in the scripture says 'put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ'; how does anybody put on the Lord Jesus Christ? Since some could not understand, they translated the text as 'let your armor be the Lord Jesus Christ'.

Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, putting on the Lord Jesus Christ means to put on the nature of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not an external cover but an internal filling. It is only when we fill every part within us with the nature of the Lord Jesus Christ not giving any room for the lust of the flesh; will we be over-comers of the flesh. The idea is not to fight the flesh but to substitute the flesh with the nature of the Lord Jesus Christ.

That means every moment whatever we do or whatever word we speak, we should ask ourselves 'if Jesus Christ was in my place what would He do?' and imitate Him. If you do not get the answer then ask the One who was filled in Him and is now in you - the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will not only reveal you the Lord Jesus Christ but will also strengthen and guide you in His way.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Holy Spirit, I want to become like Jesus. Reveal to me Jesus so that I can imitate Him and become an over-comer of the flesh, thus I may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven and all that the Father have made available for me. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
