The Lord SHALL gather the lambs

Isaiah 40:11 - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Today's message is in continuation to our earlier messages.

Before I get to the message I like to share a property which I understood between the Hebrew text and the Greek text. In Greek the verb has TVM - Tense (sorry previously I wrote it as Tone), Voice & Mood, while the Hebrew verb has only two properties verb Pattern and verb Class.

Verb Pattern like QAL, Hiphil etc are similar to Tense, while the verb class sometimes takes the role of Voice and sometimes as Mood. Now taking this with the Word of God - it was in Jesus that the Word became flesh and the 3 in 1 image of God was completed. Before man was sometimes in flesh and sometimes in Spirit therefore even the languages are in line.

In the scripture 'He shall feed' the verb 'feed' has the PC as Qal & Imperfect.

Qal: Qal is the most frequently used verb pattern. It expresses the "simple" or "causal" action of the root in the active voice.

Imperfect: The imperfect expresses an action, process or condition which is incomplete.

While the verb 'gather' in 'He shall gather' and 'lead' in 'shall gently lead' has the PC - Piel & Imperfect.

Piel: Piel usually expresses an "intensive" or "intentional" action.

So what do we learn from it?

As the scripture says the feeding will be in a casual way which may not even be noticed and it will be continuous. We should not expect in one day all our problems to be solved; we should believe that everyday the Lord will attend to every area gradually.

But in case of gathering and leading His people the Lord is going to do it with a strong hand, focused and continually keep drawing us closer. So if you are planning to continue straying away, the Lord is going to effect the surrounding around you and bring you to a state that you will realize and return back. So to avoid the harsh bring back like the prodigal son, let us like a lamb be covered by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and like Him surrender to the Father as He did by saying 'Father, not my will but your will be done in me'.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You love us so much that You will not let anybody, not even our own selves distant us from You. We look around us and we do not realize that it is You calling us to change and be drawn closer to You. Help me Lord by your Spirit that I may renew my whole being and like a lamb be gathered unto You. This I ask in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
