Watch your language

Colossians 4:5,6 - Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Today I receive this message from the Lord and yesterday I received a call connecting to this message which I am led to share with you.

Yesterday there was a call from someone referred by another brother I met two or three times at service. This brother who called is thirsting to learn more of the Word of God and went to many people and was not satisfied. The people who were ministering to him, themselves said that his level is beyond them and they could not help him much. For the Lord speaks to him with vision. He heard about me through the person I met, since my learning was also in the same fashion.

His words on the telephone were somewhat like this 'brother the Lord has blessed me with wisdom and I get visions which have come true and I am lucky...'

Most people will not find anything wrong in his words, but I immediately caught the word 'lucky'. God may have blessed him with wisdom but he was not using it. For the word 'lucky' is not a word in the dictionary of a believer. It is only an unbeliever who can talk about luck. Our God is God and if anything is beyond Him will make Him not God. Believing in luck means believing there are powers beyond God.

We can use words like fortunate or blessed but using a word like luck makes one stand as an unbeliever. Summarily we tend to use words like 'damned' or 'bloody' etc... Do we know what these words means?

Do we think what we speak or is there a lose connection between our mind and mouth. Mistakes happen ones, twice or sometimes but not always. We make excuses like habit; I would say habit of making mistakes.

What we speak and communicate can build or misleads others. So next time, watch your language and use the wisdom you have been blessed with. For each one who believes in Christ is blessed with wisdom beyond an unbeliever; we need to use it and build others with it.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, forgive us for the times we have disowned You in our words. Help us discern every word we speak so that we use this gift of speech to build others and to testify to the world who our God is. We ask You to pour more of your Spirit on us and help us live more in Him. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
