Beersheba unto Hinnom

Nehemiah 11: 30 - Zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, at Lachish, and the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof. And they dwelt from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom.

When I got this message it took me quite some time, to figure out what the Lord is trying to tell us. This scripture is a part of scriptures which tell us of how the people of Israel dwelled during the time they were under the Persian rule.

Beersheba was a place where Abraham made an oath with Abimelech and Abraham (at that time Abram) dug a well as a sign of their oath. This place was called Beersheba meaning well of seven which symbolizes well or supply of fullness. This place was the southernmost point of the land earmarked unto the Israelites, therefore they usually used the term 'from Dan to Beersheba' like we use the term north to south. For them this territory was the world since it was the territory the Lord had given them. But in today's message we read written Beersheba unto Hinnom. When I saw this I wondered why; was the Lord going to increase our blessings, but only when I went into the meaning of their name Hinnom I realized what the Lord was telling us. The Hebrew word 'Hinnom' means 'lamentation'.

Some years back I had received a warning and in that vision I had seen a bridge off sea been broken and part of it drown in the sea. The time period indicated in that vision pointed to somewhere in November end and early December last year. At that time I thought it was a warning about a natural calamity which would hit Mumbai. But around October, November start I realized this would be a financial disaster waiting to happen since the previous recession was shown to me as a highway that was deserted and the reason being the vehicles were having a shortage of fuel and even previous visions showed prosperity as a highway.

Through December there were hardly any signs of problems, but today we can see it luring in the shadow. Things that did not happen during the last recession are been seen happening now. Some countries have not experience its effects yet.

In the Bible poverty is projected as a salt water crocodile and one of the characteristics of this animal is that it lures slowly towards its prey, the only things seen at this time are its nostrils and eyes. Once in arm's reach it pounces on it and holds its prey tightly in its jaws. At this time it is almost impossible to free one's self from its jaws, most of the time the person losses a part of one's self trying to free from its hold. Another dangerous point is once the crocodile gets a hold of its prey and has an advantage over it, it spins round and round holding the prey in its jaws and tries to drown it and kill it. If one reflects on the things that come over a person at this time then one would be able to relate it to the crocodile.

Today's message is not a good message. It is a warning which the Lord is telling Christian nations that they would be moving from a time of sufficient to a time of mourning. This mourning would also be caused due the times of frequent natural disasters that we are in. Note - It is not the time of indication that Jesus would come but a step in the chain of events leading to when Jesus Christ would come again.

Let us pray for each other and repent for the lives we have been living, and especially for taking the Lord and His instructions for granted since we had been blessed with worldly things.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are God and your Kingdom is not of this world. You made us Lord, so that we overcome this world and prove ourselves to be your Children and to be blessed with things unimaginable. Even though we were not capable or worthy, it is You who made it possible for us to do so. Lord in spite of You doing so much yet we have taken You for granted. Lord, forgive us your people and have mercy on us. Let us not perish, but for your Name sake takes us through this times unharmed...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
