Change or God will reject you

2 Kings 8:25-27(King Ahaziah)
25 In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab.

We see in the Bible, it has many examples like king Ahaziah who instead of following the Word of God started following the word of his ancestors. The Lord warned them again and again through His anointed ones but they refuse to heed. The same happened in the case of Ahaziah and then the Lord send a word through His Prophet Elisha and anointed Jehu as king in his place. Jehu was just an ordinary officer in king Ahaziah's army yet the Lord made him king and cursed the generations of king Ahaziah.

Today the Lord is tell the same to His Church, follow His Word and not the word of man or else He will do the same what He did to king Ahaziah. People have the mentality that man knows more than God and that is the very reason the center scripture of the Bible tells us 'it is better to trust the Lord then to put our trust in man'.

Do not be a man pleaser nor afraid of man. Man can maximum hurt our physical bodies and put it to dead but they can not touch our spirit, our spirit will continue to live; and neither man, nor Satan has power to hurt the spirit of a believer. Do not take the patience of the Lord for granted, even the Heavens and earth flee before His wrath.

It is our choice to accept or reject the Word of God. We may be weak to abide by it but we need to at least make up our minds and put efforts to follow it. It is the Helper Who will help us keep it.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, forgive us if we have not abided by your Word. Help us Lord by opening our minds that every word of your Word is Truth, it is not the work of man but of your Spirit. Holy Spirit manifest your glory and put all those who challenge your Word to shame. Let the fear of God come upon man. May You be glorified on earth...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
2 Kings 9:1-13
1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:
2 And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;
3 Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.
4 So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead.
5 And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.
6 And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.
7 And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.
8 For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:
10 And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.
11 Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.
12 And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13 Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

Psalms 118:8
8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
