Understanding Resurrection

Acts 23:8
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.


I will try to briefly explain the concept of resurrection in today's mail, but this would require one to study it more deeply to get the full understanding of it.

The word used for resurrection in today's scripture is the Greek word 'anastasis' which means to 'rise again'.

To understand resurrection we need to understand what rises again. Since the Sadducees did not understand the elements of man and the Heavens they did not believe in resurrection, nor in Angles and not even the spirit world. But the funny part of it is they believed in God. Imagine their concept of God in Heaven where nothing else exist!

On the other hand we had the Pharisees who the scripture says 'confessed' the existence of Angels and of spirit world but they too verbally spoke of it but did not understand it nor understand resurrection; but they did hope in live after bodily death.

We need to understand a human, Heaven and the events connected to sin to understand resurrection.

Man is made of 3 elements spirit, inner man (soul) and body (flesh, bones & blood). The right definition of man is that he is a spirit being having a soul, living in a body. When God created Adam, He took dust of which He made a body and put his spirit (not God's Spirit but a human spirit) into it and it is written his soul became alive. Which means the soul too existed before but was inert, but when the spirit was put in the body the soul became active. If one understands this in depth one will understand how blessings and curses (including sickness) get passed from parents to children. In spirit man and Angels are the same thus when we enter Heaven we will become Angels.

The life of a human spirit is made by God to live for thousands of years but yet was not eternal. Only God (Father, Spirit & Son) have life in themselves to live eternally. But for man and Angels being to live eternally God made available the Tree of Life. Whenever a being needs a recharge of life the being needs to just eat of the Tree. It was this reason even though the Tree was accessible to Adam and Eve they never felt to eat of it, but when sin came into them God removed their access to the Tree of Life for their access to the Tree would have allowed sin to live forever.

The human body when created by God too was designed to live a long, long time but sin manifested into sickness and the bar for body life was bought to 120years during the Noah floods (there was a case after that where a person lived beyond 120years all because he dwelt in the Sanctuary of God).

Before sin Adam and Eve were not restricted to their body and therefore never felt naked. But when they lost the Fruit of Righteousness, Truth and Holiness due to sin they were restricted in the body and thus felt the nakedness of the body. Jesus demonstrated His ability to overcome the body of flesh when He transfigured.

When sin came into man God cursed man that not only his body but his spirit (soul including) would perish. The body perishes here on earth but for the spirit to perish a prison called Hell existed. This prison is not controlled by Satan but by the Angels of God. In this prison there is no fire but the fire that burns here are the sins which are within the soul of its prisoners. In this place one cannot see another being but can sense the suffering of those around him and is thus called an endless pit. Lucifer (Satan - the Dragon) has been bound here since start of creation and would be set free in the last days.

For those who believe in Lord Jesus Christ a place exist which is called the Grave where the soul sleeps unto Judgment Day. If one knows Who Lord Jesus Christ is then one would understand why people before His coming as man and becoming our sacrifice also slept after they died.

The Heavens have 7 levels and we exist on the 3rd lowest level with Grave and Hell below us. Evil spirit can exist freely on our level and a level above but cannot enter the real Heaven the Holy levels. They can be put in Hell from where they cannot return. Jesus had that authority but He gave us only the authority to drive them away not put them in Hell. Nothing evil but only God and the Sons of God (those who have the image of God in them) can exist in the top 3 levels. The top most level also called the Holy Mountains is the most Holy place where the glory of God is seated.

The rule of Hell is imprisonment for all soul which has sin in them. Jesus went to Hell because the sins of mankind were on Him, but He could not be kept there for there was no sin in Him. He was set free again and reappeared on the third day which is what we call as He rose again or resurrected. The Power of resurrection is the Power (Holy Spirit) Who kept Him without sin when He was yet man and as Paul says this Power is now in us.

We who are sinners even when we die will still not go to Hell if we believe in Jesus Christ for by His rising again He broke the curse for all those who believe in Him. We will go to sleep and be woken up when He comes again to judge us. He will come again when man earns the Fruit of Truth which is the full understanding of the scriptures with the help of the Spirit of Truth. After passing the Judgment we would be given the remaining 2 Fruits of Righteousness and Holiness from Jesus Christ and thus becoming Sons, be able to enter Heaven.

People sleeping in the Grave are not allowed to interact with sinful man for God has forbidden it. The spirits which claim to be dead people are actually evil spirits deceiving people. When Saul did communicate with the spirit of Samuel he was condemned to death along with his sons that very day. Since Jesus was without sin and all the Spirit of God was in Him in fullness He could communicate with the spirits of Moses and Elijah when He transfigured.

Lord, when You created the Heaven You knew Satan would revolt against your plans and cause darkness. To make things perfect You created man to bless them in You and replace Satan and the fallen Angels. You plan to bless us even more and take the Heavens to a new level of glory. Lord, we just cannot wait to be in You and to be glorified in You. Your Bride the Church awaits the day when You will come back to receive Her and make Her people into Sons of God. We thank You for breaking the curse of death and giving us new life by your resurrection...

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others. (All rights are with God)
