The Blood and the Cross - Part 2

With regards to the sins which we can not reconcile with our brothers or sisters for any reason, or those which we have committed against the Lord, we learnt yesterday how to ask forgiveness for them.

Today let us study about SIN; the sinful nature in us.

Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

When God made Adam and Eve they were perfect, but when sin can into them it manifested and death too came into them. This death is not that of the body but of the spirit.

This sinful nature (also called rebellious nature against God) passed from Adam on to all generation and therefore even if we ourselves have been living a good life we are yet sinners. Not because we have done anything but because we inherited this from our fathers.

Romans 3: 9b, 10 .... for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

For it is written in the Book of Moses, that God would pass the sin of the father upon the children unto the third and forth generation.

Exodus 20: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Jesus though born from a human woman痴 womb was without sin for His father was the Holy Spirit of God.

It is this sinful nature which makes us sin. Being born sinners and always falling into sin we need to overcome this sinful nature; and to overcome this sinful nature we need the Cross of Jesus Christ.

Romans 5: 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord Jesus, You surrendered Yourself unto the Cross so that I may be free from this sinful nature. Lord Jesus, You died on the Cross so that by your Cross I have victory over death. By your Spirit Lord help me take the Cross and follow You to my Father in Heaven, Amen.
