Put you on the Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 13:14 - But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Just yesterday I was speaking to a sister who sometime back was in an odd situation and everybody around her advised her against her desire and some even went to the extent of speaking to her parents. These were people who do the Lord's work and through whom many wonders the Lord performs.

When I came to know about it I too was not happy for a short time but I did not go by my intelligence and prayed to the Lord about it. I got a clear message that this was the work of the Lord. So I encouraged her to go ahead. Yesterday she confirmed to me that the Lord has given her the go ahead and today she is very happy.

I shared this as an example of how we should go about in our life. Our mind and our understanding may say something according to the world but we should not follow it. We should ask the Lord and abide by what the Lord has to say about it.

Although we are living in the flesh and have a mind and nature like that of Adam, once we have been born again / baptized in Jesus Christ we should deny the control of our being by our flesh or our worldly mind (Adam's nature), but be led by our spirit connected to the Spirit of God.

Lord Jesus, You have given me your Spirit that dwells in me and guides me. Lord, help me separate myself from my flesh and my worldly mind and be led by You. Help me deny myself and be broken for You and your purpose in this world, so that I may be glorified in You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

21 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
22 But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
23 Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
24 Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others. (All rights are with God)
