The Lord is our strong hold in the day of trouble

Nahum 1:7 - The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

When things are difficult man can give console to our emotions, but these are temporary. In the time of trouble there is only one who can really save us and that is the Lord. It is only those who trust in Him, are the ones He remembers and saves.

An example is the Israelites when they were in Egypt and were suffering at the hands of the Egyptians. It was only when their suffering came unto the Lord; He remembered the covenant He had made with Abraham and with great manifestation of his power, saved them.

Had they trusted the Lord they would have not had to suffer so much, the Lord would have remembered them and saved them earlier.

We, learning by the mistakes of others should put ourselves to totally trusting the Lord, so that we can now avail of his protection and peace.

Father God, You are God over all things on earth and in Heaven. You alone are our refuge and we trust in you. Lord, remember us for we are brothers and sisters in Christ. For the sake of Christ and what He has done for us deliver us from our troubles...

This we ask in Jesus' Name, Amen.

25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.
