Growing in Love, only when in Function

From him [Christ] the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. - Ephesians 4:16

Ephesians and Colossians emphasize that Christ Jesus is head of the Church. He sets our direction. He is our example. He is our goal for ministry. In addition, Jesus Christ also arranges us in his Body, as God has called us and as are given gifts, to build each other and together in God, so that we can effectively serve as his ambassadors in this world.

It is only when we function as called, will we be built in love. If Jesus just had to love everybody, He would have become a social service worker, healing, feeding, clothing, starting health centers, kitchens, etc... Jesus love us with God's purpose therefore He did as per scriptures for God's glory. God knows what is best for us, so if we try to do anything other than that, led by our emotions, we are depriving the best.

Let our love be true, with the purpose of God. Only when the Church functions like the Lord defined will we see great things happening. The fear of God will come on everyone, like it happened during the time of the Apostles.

So let's find out what is our function as part of the Church, the Body of Jesus Christ, by studying the scriptures and meditating in prayer. Let's let Holy Spirit of God lead us.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Righteous Father, thank You for your Son, Jesus. Thank You for his example, service, obedience, love, and sacrifice. Thank You for his resurrection, exaltation, power, and presence today in the Church and in my life. Father, please use me, and my brothers and sisters in Christ with me, to do his work in our world and share your grace with all who are lost. In the Name of the Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
