What is on your table?

Ezekiel 40:41 - Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices.

In my previous posts I mentioned the chapters 40 to 42 of Ezekiel which give dimensions and details of a temple actually give dimensions of a perfect inner-man (heart) which is the true temple of God.

Today when I received this message I was for a short time puzzled as to what to write for currently I am learning on this topic with the Lord, and have yet not completed it. The Lord did show me the basic structure of the heart through the books of Moses and Psalms which I wrote in Heart part III. But as I was meditating on today's message the word table in Hebrew 'shulchan' struck me and when I looked up it originates from the word 'shalach' which means to send, to cast away and less to keep or store.

We have a mentality that a table is a place to keep something, on earthly tables we may do that but we do not realize that tables are no meant for that. Tables are transaction counters where work is done or objects are kept temporally with a purpose to give or consumed.

To keep anything we have shelves or storerooms or cupboards and in the heart there is no permanent storage but just tables. Which means all that we are, all that makes us, our memories , our deeds, our thoughts, our words, our desires everything that is in our hearts is on tables. They are on tables because one day when we stand before the Lord this is what we offer Him.

Now think of all that we have on our tables, are these which we want to offer to our Lord and Master?

It is time we throw away all that worthless junk we filled from this world and fill the tables with precious Heavenly things.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, from childhood we are trained by this world to desire for pleasures of the flesh, pleasures for things which are worthless in your Kingdom. We have pilled our hearts with hurts, un-forgiveness and sins. Your message for us today tells us to make our tables as tables of sacrifice which offer precious things unto You. Lord, help us cleanse our tables of the junk and help us collect precious spiritual things that have value in your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Ezekiel 40:2-5,36-43
2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.
3 And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.
4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.
5 And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.
36 The little chambers thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, and the windows to it round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.
37 And the posts thereof were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.
38 And the chambers and the entries thereof were by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering.
39 And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.
40 And at the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate, were two tables.
41 Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices.
42 And the four tables were of hewn stone for the burnt offering, of a cubit and an half long, and a cubit and an half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon also they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
43 And within were hooks, an hand broad, fastened round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the offering.

Ephesians 5:1-10
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
