Come in holiness to worship God

Psalms 96:9 - O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

The Lord instructed the Israelites if they build an altar dedicated to the Lord, the altar was to be build of natural material like earth (understanding of the Word) and rocks (Revelations from God) but not of worldly understandings.

The rocks were suppose to be as they are, not modified or altered in any form by any human tools (logic). God does not allow man to play with his Word in any way. Even though the Prophets spoke God's Word, they said or wrote every word as what the Lord gave (by visions, audible voice etc.), most of the time they themselves had no understanding of the depth of what the Lord spoke through them. They never dared to alter a word even if they did not understand. Thus we find the Bible perfect to every alphabet although it has been put together by many over thousands of years.

Also a very important instruction given to the Israelites was while building the altar not to build steps, so that their nakedness was not shown. God's instruction had nothing to do with the physical nakedness of man but the moral nakedness.

When we come to worship the Lord we should make sure that we have covered our nakedness. That means we need to get ourselves forgiven, free ourselves of un-forgiveness and cover ourselves with righteousness making sure we are not filled with worldly lust or intoxicated with worldly things. However good we may be, our righteousness are like rags. Therefore we need to cover ourselves with the righteousness of Christ. That does not means that we continue to live a life of filth and then cover ourselves with the righteousness of Jesus Christ. We need to keep pursuing Christ from within and cover ourselves with Christ from within.

We need to worship the Lord because when we truly worship Him we have true peace with us and among ourselves. Even if the world hates us it will still not be able to harm us.

So let us in holiness (sanctified) approach the Lord to worship Him.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, You are Go and all creation longs to worship You. It is only when we come before You and worship You do we have peace. We are not worthy to come before You for we will die due to our filthiness. But in Christ and covered by his Blood sacrifice we come boldly before You by Him to worship You. Lord God we long to see your glory, show us your glory and let it be filled in all the earth...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Exodus 20:24-26
24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt-offerings, and thy peace-offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in every place where I record my name I will come unto thee and I will bless thee.
25 And if thou make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stones; for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not uncovered thereon.

Romans 5:17-19
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
