Hidden power in the Name of Jesus

John 15:16 - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

The Gospel of John is an exceptional book and is written like an autobiography of Jesus. The book starts with an introduction of Jesus like none in the Bible and also the personal revelations of Jesus is like none in the whole Bible; in fact I call it the book of Jesus.

Like I put it in my previous mail that the Father's business is in fruit(s) (the Holy Spirit is also referred by Jesus at times as Father, for He was conceived in the womb of Mary by the Holy Spirit). The Holy Spirit knows, for Jesus (the Word) to remain in us His fruit(s) is necessary, therefore wants us to grow and multiply the fruit(s) in us. God has identified His people with His fruit (like the Good Samaritan). We have come to know God because in us when we were created was given a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

If you read the scripture John 17:12 in NIV and New American Standard Bible with other translations, you will find a very great difference in them. When the Lord was teaching me about authority I was shown this scripture. For in this scripture lies the key.

NKJV
12While I was with them NU omits in the worldin the world, I kept them in NU Your name which You gave Me. And I guarded them; (or it;)Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is destroyedlost except the son of destructionperdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

Amplified
12While I was with them, I kept and preserved them in Your Name [[P]Albert Barnes, Notes on the New Testament.in the knowledge and worship of You]. Those You have given Me I guarded and protected, and not one of them has perished or is lost except the son of perdition [Judas Iscariot--the one who is now doomed to destruction, destined to be lost], that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

RSV
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

NIV
12While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

New American Standard Bible
12"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name aJohn 17:6; Phil 2:9; Rev 19:12 which You have given Me; and I guarded them and bJohn 6:39; 18:9 not one of them perished but cJohn 6:70 the [E]Heb idiom for one destined to perish son of perdition, so that the dPs 41:9; John 13:18 Scripture would be fulfilled.

When you check with the interlinear where the Greek text is given, you will find the NIV and the New American Standard Bible is accurate in their translations.

As Jesus puts it; He himself used the power in His Name to protect His disciples. For in His Name lies the Name of the Father. It is not that the Name of the Father is Jesus, but hidden in the Name of Jesus is the Name of the Father. So when we speak the Name of Jesus and in our hearts we know who Jesus is, we actually invoke the Name of the Father. It is by this that everything on earth, in Heaven and under the earth has to bow and obey. If we just say the Name Jesus without knowing who Jesus is, than we do not invoke the Name of the Father, for the Name is not said by lips but by the heart.

Thus when we ask in the Name of Jesus with Jesus our hearts, we ask the Father in His Name and therefore are given what we ask.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, we thank You for revealing Yourself through Jesus and His Name. Father, You called us your children and when we call on your Name You answer. Therefore Father in the Name of Jesus we ask You to hear our prayer and answer...

Amen.
