Deliver the poor from the wicked

Psalm 82:3-6
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
6 I have said, Ye are gods[powerful]; and all of you are children of the most High.

In wildlife we have a food chain wherein the more ferocious animals prey on the weaker animals. In the same way we have a chain in the spirit world. The wicket in spirit prey on those poor in spirit; while in the Kingdom of God those who are strong in spirit work for those who are weak in spirit.

As we spiritually mature, we Christians are expected to work for the poor people. This does not mean we start social service centers. We need to understand one thing Jesus did love the poor and so did the Apostles but their main aim was not to feed their physical bodies but to feed their spiritual bodies. No doubt basic physical needs need to be met but more concentration should be given to the spiritual needs.

'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him to fish and you feed him forever'.

Understand God has already provided us our needs but because we are weak in spirit we do not receive it, spiritually building a person poor in spirit will allow him to receive his provision. It is the misguided in spirit who concentrate on just the physical needs of the poor.

The Lord says the poor are exploited by the wicket because they lack understanding of who they are. God calls his people powerful (like little gods) because his people are children of the Most High God and the glory of God surrounds his children.

When sin came, all that God created as good got disrupted. It is only when we forgive, heal and nourish the spirit man will we be able to bring this creation back to the way God created it.

We as Christians are at war with the wicket in spirit snatching away the poor from their hands and making them know they are powerful. Making them know they are sons of God and bringing back the image of God in them.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, the wicket are destroying and exploiting the poor in spirit. Lord, You being almighty humbled yourself and became lower in spirit so that You could deliver us, heal us and feed us so as to lift us up and make us know how rich we were in spirit. Lord, You made us Sons and even though we hold unlimited wealth we act like beggars due to lack of understanding. Open our minds O Lord and alp us reach out to others so that your glory be found among your children...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scripture ]
Genesis 1:25
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Romans 8:16-22
16 The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:
17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God.
20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Colossians 1:9-17
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;
12 giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;
13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;
14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:
15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;
16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;
17 and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
