The wrath of God

Ezekiel 23:24 - And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler [piercing hook / thorn] and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.

Chapter 23 of Ezekiel reminds us of the prophecies which the Lord spoke against the Jewish Church (Old Church - Oholah which was build on false truths - Samaria) and we see every part of it had come true. Even today after many years we read how people other than the Germans were involved hand in hand, in the mass slaughter and torture of the Jews. If one goes into the root meanings of each word one would be amazed at the accuracy of the prophecy.

In today's scripture the Lord spoke against the New Church (Oholibah) which is mainly the RC Church (which speaks of peace but does not grow in the Lord - Jerusalem which does not become Zion). The Lord in the book of Ezekiel and other Prophets also speaks against theses churches and also believer Churches which are built on false truths (Samaria) and worldly prosperity (Assyrians).

One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit which in many translations is given as longsuffering but in real is 'slow to anger'.

The message for us today is about the anger of God. The Lord does get angry but is very slow to anger and we read this many places in scriptures. When the Lord gets angry He does really get angry and in his anger He does punish his people severely but rarely consumes them totally. We find even in his anger his mercy shines and He does spare a few and therefore in visions to me when He wanted to show his anger, He symbolized it with a vicious tornado.

The Lord is telling those who run after false truths, prosperity and progress, the very same will be used against them by their enemies. These things, which they are pursuing, will be their greatest problem. It will isolate them from others and make them feel high headed. The Lord will deliver them into the hands of the worldly people and the worldly people will punish them according to the worldly standards.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering [slow to anger], gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ezekiel 23:1-6
1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:
3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her sister: and they were mine, and they bare sons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerusalem Aholibah.
5 And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours,
6 Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses.

Ezekiel 23:11-14
11 And when her sister Aholibah saw this, she was more corrupt in her inordinate love than she, and in her whoredoms more than her sister in her whoredoms.
12 She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.
13 Then I saw that she was defiled, that they took both one way,
14 And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,

Ezekiel 23:22-24
22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
23 The Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them: all of them desirable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horses.
24 And they shall come against thee with chariots, wagons, and wheels, and with an assembly of people, which shall set against thee buckler and shield and helmet round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments.
