Called for a spiritual gender change

1 Corinthians 16:13 - Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

Almost all the scriptures which I quote are from the KJV AV (Authorized Version), unless I mention.

In the NKJV this same verse is translated as

1 Corinthians 16:13
13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

The word 'quit you like men' is translated as 'be brave'. The Greek word used here is 'andrizomai', it is and adverb and means to be masculine, which means to be, like sons. This is not to do with gender but with functioning as sons. Inheritance in the Bible is only to the sons not daughters, yet in the book of Moses a daughter was given her fathers inheritance; but in the Kingdom of God it will be only sons.

The bible does not discriminate between genders like many think, but it differentiates as per the functioning between genders (sons and daughters). Entry to the Kingdom of God is always associated with sons although invitation is given even to daughters.

Even if you may be a female yet in the Kingdom of God you can be a son if you function in spirit like a son. The other way around is also possible, wherein a male can be behaving like a daughter spiritually.

Adam was called son of God when he was created and lost this title when he sinned. Jesus was the first human after Adam to be referred to as son of God and to retain the title forever. The Angels are also referred to as sons of God.

This is not to be confused with Lord (Jesus Christ) being the only begotten Son of God, who became man Jesus and with the Angels and human (including Adam - for some time) referred as sons of God.

We all are called to become sons of God like Jesus. Lord God, Son of God came as man Jesus to show us the way to be sons and to make available to us the Spirit of God, Who helps us to become sons.

To be strong in faith, totally unshakable one needs to become sons like Jesus Christ. So let us all imitate Him, He who has shown us the way and has opened the door for us so that by faith we are able to do all things and nothing can go against us.

This does not mean by just physical actions but also in spirit and gradual renewal of the mind (inner man). This is stated by the Lord in this scripture itself; we understand this by the grammar of the three words 'watch ye' (5720), 'stand fast' (5720) and 'be strong' (5744).

5720 TVM: Present, Active, Imperative (by authority of the one commanding)
5744 TVM: Present, Passive, Imperative

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You send us your only Son to be man Jesus among us and to show us the way to be sons. Lord Jesus, You gave us the Word and also your Spirit, Who helps us to bring the Word alive in us and to make us like You, sons of the living God. Holy Spirit help us renew our minds, our whole inner man to be like Jesus, bring down all that which is not of your Kingdom and building all that which is good...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
