Fear the Lord

Psalms 145:19 - He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Everyone loves to hear the words of compassion, of love, of forgiveness etc... connected with the Lord, but words like righteousness, fear, anger, jealously are some of the words which most do not like to associate with the Lord or would least meditate on. Let us come to the truth if we need to know the Lord, we can not hide anything or ignore anything about Him. He is perfect and everything about Him is perfect.

Fearing the Lord does not mean just being afraid of Him, it means when we come to know of Him, we be in awe of Him. It is only when we realized who God is, that we begin to fear the Lord. It is this fear that creates helplessness in us and an all surrender feeling in us. It is this fear of the Lord that magnifies the love of the Lord. It is this fear of the Lord that let us understand His righteousness. It is this fear that makes us value His mercy. It is this fear that brings makes us understand the real value of His salvation. It is this fear that makes us value every word that comes from Him. It is this fear that makes us realize the value of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is this fear that make is cling on to His Spirit. It is this understanding of who God is that also makes is understand ourselves, for the image of God is in us. This understanding brings about a change in us and a victory over our sinful nature; the change from adam (man in the nature of Adam) to ishi (man made in the image of God).

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are God and I am not worthy to be in your presences. It is your love, mercy, compassion and generosity that lets me know You and come before You. It is because of your righteousness and holiness that You want change in me, for as I am I can not be before You. Bring about the change in me that I may live and not die when I come before You. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
