Patrons

Acts 28:11,12 - And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

Today again I received the same message as what I received last time. In my last mail I spoke about how pagan practices infiltrated Christianity through the early Catholic Church.

One of the pagan practices of the Romans and Greeks which people are ignorant about which the Catholic Church does even today openly is the concept - making patrons - making religious heads (saints) as patrons over things / matters.

We read in Acts the Twin Brothers were considered patrons by the sailors and therefore a figurehead of them on a ship was common. The Catholic Church has officially saints who are patrons over lost and found department (St. Anthony), Sickness department (St.Jude) etc. if you like to see the full list log on to http://www.catholic.org/saints/patron.php (Saint's / people of God's names are misused by this Church for many reasons and one of them mainly being for commercial gains - traditions is big money)

I can imagine the imagination of these extra wise people that they have reorganized the Kingdom of God and made it into a man's world.

What takes the cake is man is officially designation by this church to having authority over even the Angels in Heaven and overriding God to some extent. I doubt most Catholics have idea the official designation of the Pope as 'king of kings and lord or lords', 'Jesus Christ on earth in flesh', 'not mere man but god on earth', 'has authority to even excommunicate the Angels who err in Heaven'. (Prompta Bibliotheca volume 6 definition of Pope, La Civila Cattlica March 18, 1871, Catholic National July Edition 1895, Michael Muller 'The Catholic Priest' pages 78, 79). This even today is taught with great fervor in many Catholic countries.

The previous Pope John Paul II (who's mass I served in India as head altar boy when I was young) had advised Christians not to approach God directly for forgiveness of sins but to approach a priest. Today God has put this big mouth to place, for this great 'holy' man who assumes authority over Angels who err, is made to approaching mere man again and again for forgiveness for his church's un-holiness.

There is no scripture or any example in the Bible where in a Man of God is made specialist over a set area of life. If that was the case then Moses becomes patron over splitting seas, Elijah over rain control, Abraham over sacrifices and Daniel over lions. Does that sound funny? It is not funny when the same foolishness is done with religious people (saints)?

Like I wrote in my previous mail a lot of rubbish of the Catholics has also diluted and spread into the believer Churches. The believers do not believe in patrons but many believers do nurture belief that some people's prayers over certain matters are more effective than others.

When Jesus gave His disciples authority (not just the twelve but this also includes you and me, all who have become disciples of Jesus - those who carry our Crosses in Jesus Christ), He gave us authority over (all) sickness, (all) weaknesses and over (all) evil (corrupt) spirits. There was no specialization given unto some.

It is only our maturity in Spirit which will open our eyes to see the vanity which man has been doing in the Name of the Lord.

Yesterday I was at service and a powerful message came into my heart during worship; the reason why the world does not know Christ is because we fail to become true examples of Christ.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord Jesus, forgive us your people who out of lack of knowledge and lack of desire for You have fallen prey to the vanity of the evil one. Lord, open the eyes of your people and by your Spirit bring them, unto light. Make us more and more like You so that the world may know God...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
