The Complete Gospel

Romans 16:25,26 - Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

In today's scripture Paul talks of the Lord having the power to establish us. What is interesting is he uses the term my Gospel and also states the purpose of the Gospel.

In all his letters stated in the Bible there is only twice that Paul uses the term 'my Gospel', here in Romans and again in his second letter to Timothy. In other places he uses the term Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ, Gospel of God or just the term the Gospel.

Paul's Gospel is not different from the Gospel of Jesus Christ or the Gospel but confirms here that Paul's Gospel is part of the Gospel. Paul also states in this scripture the other parts of the Gospel and they all are as follow:-

1) Our Gospel - good news of our salvation
2) Preaching of Jesus Christ - it does not mean just teaching but also what He did.
3) Revelation of mysteries - this do not point to the revelation of scriptures but the revelation of mysteries of creation, right from the beginning of creation. It does require us to know all but we should have an idea of it.

A complete Gospel will have all the three points.

If one analyses each of the three points in depth and has understanding of all the three, then only will we fulfil the purpose of the Gospel and that purpose Paul states is the obedience of faith. It is the understanding of the three which helps us understand and prove the Word given through the Prophets and also why God gave us His Commandments and what Laws govern His Kingdom.

We are saved only by grace and grace cannot be accessed by good works or by human righteousness or any other way but can only be accessed by faith.

Grace is simply all the mercy we need to pass through and faith means simply believing in the Truth. Psalms clearly states mercy and truth are inseparable partners. Thus if we are people living in grace, we have to be people having the truth in us and the Gospel is the starting point of us having the Truth in us. When we understand today's message we will understand how on receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ we receive the grace of God and are saved.

People do not live in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ because they do not have the complete Gospel in them.

Today's message is also good for us to test ourselves; if we know what our being saved means and from what are we saved. Do we know the teachings of Jesus Christ and what He did? Do we have an idea of why God created this world and what is the purpose of this vivid world?

Let us be people of grace having the complete Gospel in us.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, many think they are saved but are from it. They are shaky because they have not received the complete Gospel. Lord, guide us to receive and give the complete Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ so that your people have faith. It is only by faith that we have the grace of Lord Jesus Christ and are saved...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
