Bring you all the tithes

Malachi 3:10 - Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.


One of the reasons we lack is because we do not tithe. Today the Lord is reminding you if you have not tithed. By tithing you are not doing a favor or something out of your way. In fact by not tithing you land up being a cheat and robber.

Even if you have worked hard or all the efforts you have put, it is not your efforts which got you what you received, it the Lord your provider who has provided you. Most of the people work hard because they do not know who their provider is or do not know how to approach their provider.

Give tithes does not mean all the money you are due to give into a bag or box in your church. The Hebrew word 'tithe' means 'ten percent' or 'tenth portion'. It the portion of the all that the Lord has given us (10percent of your income, incase the Lord has not given you a specify amount) which is His; and which we need to return back to Him.

In the Bible the Lord has also specified how the tithe should be given.
45 percent should go to the poor, orphan, widows etc.
Out of the 55 percent which goes to the church
25 percent to the Church
5 percent to community leaders and believers – for their personal needs even if they are rich
25 percent to people who evangelize of the Word of God
Of this 25 percent:
0.5 percent to publishing of the Bible
0.05 percent to publishing of Bible study books

You may not be able to balance your tithes very month but over the year you should try to do it the way Lord desires.

Tithing is just not in money but we also need to tithe our time and our prayers.

Father God, You are our provider and there is not other provider other than You. Lord, we thank You for all the provision You have given us. Help us Lord to tithe the way You desire us to do. Help us discern the people we tithe your money, time and our prayers...
