Celebrate Him

John 13:1 - Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

You may wonder why for a scripture like John 13:1 I gave a title like 'Celebrate Him'.

There are some things which great theologians and biblical historians ignored, which has caused many confusions and (wrong statutes) traditions to be followed by Christians.

Again and again many scripture in the Gospels Jesus Himself speaks about Moses writing all about Him and He fulfilled everything that Moses wrote.

In today's scripture we see Jesus knew He was the Passover Lamb and it was time for Him to be a sacrifice for the people to pass over from mercy to grace, from the later rain to the former rain (before sin, man did not need rain for the plants received water from the ground).

Every part of the Pascal sacrifice was fulfilled in Jesus. He was arrested and kept under observation for 5 days, killed the night before the Passover (the special/high Sabbath John 19:31 - this was not the weekly Sabbath and was on a Friday therefore Jesus died on a Thursday). But in the name of tradition lies covers the eyes of the people and deceives them from following statutes and coming to truly know the Passover Lamb - Jesus Christ.

The feast of the Unleavened Bread was what Jesus celebrated as the Last Super [there was no lamb at the table which was a must for the main Passover) which was 7 days before the Passover and that too has been corrupted in the name of traditions. Since people do not understand this, we have Christians using wafer and leaven bread and breaking them as the Body of Christ broken for us, again corrupting statutes in the name of tradition.

Every sacrifice written in the book of Moses concerning the healing of man was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Even if one had not been fulfilled there would have been no hope for us.

God was not fool to give such details in the book of Moses to be celebrated as statutes for the Passover or any festival or the design of the Tabernacle and Ark. Every detail lets us know more of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

Like the Passover also the other festivals were all about Jesus Christ (His resurrection, receiving of His Spirit and even His birthday all were celebrated in the book of Moses) and when we understand them will we know the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord instructed not to keep His statutes but instructed to follow His statues and keep His Commandments. When we follow we do have authority or control to twist turn or modify anything, we just need to follow as instructed.

So let us as Christians not celebrate any traditional festival but let us celebrate the Lord Jesus Christ and by it know Him more and more.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, the deceiver has blinded the eyes of your people with traditions, preventing them from knowing You. These traditions have made them feel they are following You but in reality they are following vanity. Although the Israelites left Egypt but the gods and understandings of Egypt did not leave them but pursued them through the wilderness. Lord we pray your people forsake the traditions of man and follow your statutes, keep your Word thus come to know You and have authority over the carnal nature of Adam...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
