Come ye apart into the desert place

Mark 6:31 - And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

In most MNC offices you would find that they will have one day of the week normally Monday, where the first half will be spend in reviewing the progress and problems faced by every important employee. It is only by this reassessment that growth is accelerated with timely action taken.

We as Christians are also called to give time to review ourselves; our actions, our motives, our ways etc... It is at this time where we are called into a desert place, in a desert kind of environment, where we rebuild our relationship with the Lord and our selves. We iron out with a renewed hope and grace of the Lord the deficiencies in us and become more like Jesus Christ.

So if we are actively working for the Lord, we should take time in between all our activities and go into an inner reassessment making ourselves more like Jesus by reflecting on what we are doing, the way we are doing and the purpose of what we are doing. It is at this time we are exposed to all our weaknesses and areas which we need to let the Lord work upon.

Lord, help me in the non-stop world to take time and review myself. Bring to mind all those areas You want me to open to your working in me. Lift up my valleys, bring down my hills and make straight my rough paths. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.
