Christianity is Contagious

1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 - And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for in spite of persecution you received the word with joy inspired by the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

Christians make more Christians - not because they are "supposed to" but because their new lives given by God and accompanied by the joy of the Holy Spirit simply become billboards for a world looking for happiness and meaningful lives. Their faith is contagious - it is not forced or foisted on others, but it displays itself in their lives. And people notice. There's hardly a social force more powerful than the personal testimony.

Imitation is never the mechanism that makes a Christian. Imitation refers to parallel results that appear when people who make the same choices experience similar results. God himself is the power we experience but common to all of us are the elements of trust, love, forgiveness and joy - seen by everyone who is looking for an example of what God can do.

[ Prayer for the Day ]

Lord, we can see your power and presence everywhere we look. Help us to share our faith with others that your Spirit may lead them, too, into the eternal fellowship of your family. Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
