The Way, Truth & Life

John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus said He was the way, the truth and the life; what did He mean by it?

When He said He was the way, He meant He was the route to our destination. Jesus is not our destination, but God our Father is our destination. When He said THE way it means there is no other way to God our Father but by Jesus.

When He said THE truth, He meant it. Jesus Christ was the Word that became flesh. When you really understand the Bible (the Old Testament - the shadow, New Testament - the Spirit and the whole Bible - the truth), you will understand John 1:1-5 and John 1:13-14. It is only by the Spirit of Christ what we come to understand the Bible. People may read and study the Bible, but that is all knowledge, and knowledge does not change life. It is only by the Spirit of Truth that was on Jesus we come to true understanding of the Bible.

And when Jesus said I am the life, He did not mean human life (life in the flesh) but life everlasting. Because of sin we were all condemned to suffering and death but due to Jesus Christ we can now receive freedom from being condemned.

Let us therefore follow Jesus and by His Spirit receive the truth, life and come into the presence of God our Father.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
