The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak

Matthew 26:41 - Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Most of us fall into temptations because of our ailing prayer life. There were times when I had fallen in the flesh and the reason of this; the Lord showed me was my prayer life. It is not the quantity of time that we spend to pray that matters but quality is given more importance.

We have the habit of first giving importance to all our daily cores, our house work, our office work, our important TV programs, our outings etc.. and after all this we will remove time for the Lord, for prayer. We have the habit of giving the residue of our time for the Lord. The most important being in our life gets the worst of us. When we are in regular communication with the Lord there are very less chances of us falling into temptation.

The Lord understands the weakness of our flesh, but to overcome it, we need to be in communication with Him, and that happens in spirit. Even if we are reading our Bibles daily or studying the Word of God we can not ignore our prayer life. It is in prayer and worship that we receive the anointing. Anointing is the ability that we receive from God to do the job, it is like skill and the Word of God is like the tools. When we have both, the tools and the skill, we can get the job done. Ignore either one of them and we will have problems.

Get up early; spend a little quality time with the Lord. Thanking Him and worshiping Him for who He is. Speak to Him and He will answer.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Lord God, I am sorry for not giving due importance to You in my every day life. I make a commitment today to spend more time and quality time with You. Teach me how to prayer to You like Daniel and Jesus did. I make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
