Do good and communicate

Hebrews 13:16 - But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Giving praises and worshiping the Lord is all good to the Lord, but to really please Him the two things are - doing good and communicating. These factures are not towards God but towards His people. The Greek word - 'communicate' Strong <2842> used here literally means 'social participation'.

As we start overcoming our old person, disconnecting form our carnal nature, we also tend to disconnect from people. The only people we land up communicating with are our family, those at prayer services and at work. This is not what the Lord wants us to do. Paul had a special mission to preach to Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel but that did not let him to totally disconnect from the lot of people he came from (his letter to the Romans - Paul was half Jew and half Roman).

While we are making ourselves immune to the ways of the world we also need to dwell in it and be an exhibit to others. Therefore being a Christian is unlike other religions which suggest going to isolated places to search for God. Our God and the true God is found among His people.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are a loving God. You love your people and dwell among them. Although there is sin in the camp, yet You are found in the camp working among your people, dispelling sin. As your renewed ones, we need to imitate You, therefore guide us as we live among the worldly people changing them, while not getting changed by them. We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
