Deliver not the soul of thy turtledove

Psalms 74:19 - O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove to the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

When I got this scripture I was wondering why the Lord used the word turtledove. A turtle dove is a species of dove (looks more like a pigeon) which is given the name because of the sound it makes which is similar to the turtle / tortoise. This sound is more like random sounds and at time sounds like a cat or a hiss like a snake or groaning some really weird sounds.

If we go into the Hebrew word towr translated as turtledove comes from roots words which mean curls (like that of a hair) and search. So it too speaks of random and confusion.

When one studies doves one will understand the gift of tongues and realize why people make weird sounds when they pray in tongues. The Bible also specifies pigeons, doves and turtledoves separately. It is only when we observe the nature and characteristics of these birds and study their names in Hebrew (including their root meanings) we will understand why they were part of the offering and what did they symbolize. All these symbolization was brought to light or written Word became flesh when Jesus Christ (the man Jesus and the Spirit on Him) fulfilled them; in Him or through Him.

The book of Acts shows when a person was baptized in the Holy Spirit there was a manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit on them and the usual gift was the gift of tongues. That is why they were confident about their baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Turtledove symbolizes an anointed person, one who is baptized in the Holy Spirit and today's message is a prayer to the Lord not to deliver even one of His anointed ones for the sake of a multitude of those of this world and not to forget the humble of His Kingdom.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord You are God and thy Kingdom is not this worldly Kingdom which is temporary but a Spirit Kingdom which is forever. All flesh is like a dream, when the Truth is revealed in man and You come in glory all flesh will perish and only those who have overcome will live to enter your Kingdom. The rest will suffer for following their flesh. Lord we who are yours are very precious to You and we thank You for your Hand over us...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
