The Rich Man is Not

Job 27:19 - The rich man shall lie down' but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.

Most people will hate me for this message like they hated Jesus. Even His own disciples were baffled when Jesus spoke on this topic, which they did not do for any of His other messages.

One brother came to me and asked me if I would preach on financial prosperity / blessings, and I told that brother if I do so most of them will either leave Christianity or chase me with stones.

Today's message talks of when the rich lies he shall not be gathered' he opens his eyes he realizes he is nothing. This scripture is not talking of him sleeping for the night but talks of when he dies.

If one reads the Old Testament it actually tells you who was saved in the Lord when they died and also tells us why from their life. When the person dies it does not just say he died but says he was gathered unto his people or his fathers or slept (New Testament). For those who were not saved it says nothing of them being gathered, but just they died.

This world is like a fog where we see things very hazily and seeing with natural eyes is like walking through a dense fog by feeling one's self around. When we see with our spiritual eyes it is like using infrared glasses or a radar and seeing through the fog. When we die each and every one will exit the fog and wills see everything clearly. Irrespective we saw right or wrong in the fog we will see things all they perfectly and realize the mistakes we did in the fog.

Today's scripture further says when the rich man dies and his eyes open he will realize he was pursuing vanity. It is like someone giving up one's life for a good massage. No doubt a good massage makes one feel good at that time but then it does not save a person and not worth suffering for thousands of years for a few days of enjoyment.

Like riches are very dangerous for a Christian so also poverty is a curse for a Christian. A good Christian is a person who neither lacks in any area for he knows His Provider nor has excess where in his heart cannot control the desires of the flesh, for he is overcomer. Fasting' Tithing and Giving unto the Lord are a good start to control one's greed from riches.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord' in this world man dwells in the waters between the crocodile and the hippopotamus. Both are out to consume him. Lord we pray You keep our hearts sober and we desire for things in Heaven more than things of this world. Help us to always remember You are our provider so that we do not spend our lives stocking things for ourselves and become rich but learn to trust You more. Lord' build us in faith and help us walk in spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
