A Perfect Wife

Proverbs 31:10-11
10 A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her, And he shall have no lack of gain.

If one reads the scriptures from Proverbs 31:10-31 one will be surprised to see the Bible being more moderate thinking than one can imagine.

It gives an outline of a wife as a mother, life companion and self sufficient woman, a woman who knows her priorities well and looks after all the needs of all her family members.

She selflessly, tirelessly does her household work and prioritizes her work from dawn to dust. She is a mother, house maker, companion and also a well to do business woman who is recognized by the people for her quality of work. She becomes a blessing to her family and society. She is neither a charming woman nor one who bothers much about beauty; she knows what holds real value for her. She has love, compassion, wisdom, skill, knowledge, kindness, self control and above all fear of the Lord in her.

Her children get up and bless her, her husband praises her and at the same time makes her proud since he too has a standing in society. The whole community talks praises of her and looks up to her.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, your Word is life unto us. It directs us unto all things. In your Word, You also define the role of every person of the family which symbolizes a Church. Today Lord You gave us direction about being a perfect wife. Lord, we pray for all our sisters who are married and those who are planning to get married soon, that they know the purpose of marriage and set right their priorities in their life; as a family and with regards to society. Let them not seek the ways of the world but let the world seek her as a blessing...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.
