Why are the unbelievers and wicked so successful?

Psalms 37:7 - Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.


It is a question which is in the minds of most believers as to why good things happen to unbelievers even when they do not know God and some even pursue wicket ways to success.

There are many reasons but I will touch the most prominent one.

One of the main reasons why the unbelievers prosper is US. We the believers and children of God are the reasons why they prosper. You may say but we are not prospering so why are they prospering more than us?

If you read the curses in Deuteronomy 28

Deuteronomy 28:43-44, 31-34
43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

These are curses which come on the children of God (not the unbelievers) when they do not hear unto the Voice of the Lord. It does not mean they keep every commandment written in the Bible, but it means what they Lord has spoken unto them.

Deuteronomy 28:45
45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

That simply means if the Lord has told you today to forgive someone and reconcile with that person and you do not do so, then you are disobeying His Voice and bring yourself into the curse, now the blessing which were due unto you will fall on the unbelievers around you and prosper them. They will soon dominate you and rule over you.

This may sound funny but is the truth; if we as believers are working for an unbeliever than it is so, thanks to our contribution of disobeying God.

When we are in Christ we become the head not the tail of any person. It is only Christ who becomes our Head not any unbeliever.


[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, when father Abraham came unto You, You prospered Him and blessed His Seed and those in His Seed. We by faith in the Seed (Jesus) avail of the blessings of father Abraham. Lord, forgive us for we have rejected these blessing by our unbelief and our disobedience. Lord, change our hearts today and bring us unto repentance so that we change our ways and receive all the blessings given unto us...

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. 10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised [of the heart].
11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin [one's own human desires]; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
12 And he that is eight days old [eight represents born-again - the name Jesus has the numerical value 888] shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others. (All rights are with God)
