Paul's letter to Colossians

Jeremiah 22:6 - For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

To give you a little background of the letter. The Church at Colossae was not the hand work of Paul but one of his disciples Epaphras. It was during the period when Paul was in prison that Epaphras updated Paul on what was happening in Colossae which prompted Paul to write this epistle.

The problem what Paul saw in Colossae is the same problem which the Lord sees today in His Churches and wants to send the same letter of Paul again to all His Churches.

If one reads the letter the main concern of the letter was to address the minds of the congregation who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ at the same time also believed the other religions had some truth in them and they too led to God.

As workers of the Lord's Vineyard along with other likeminded servants of God we have taken this very seriously and go to all extents to expose the false in all other religions while reinforce the Truth in the Bible.

Many come to us and say why bother about other religions let us concentrate at the Light of Christ. But the Bible says the Light exposes the darkness. People are not aware of the dangers of the other religions who like termites eat into the shaky minds of Christians and destroy them. For example the Muslims have a book composed in the 1800 which attacks each and every belief of a Christian so much so it has caused even strong people having great knowledge of the Bible like Bible professors of Bible colleges to reject Christ and embrace Islam. A person not knowing Islam well easily becomes prey to such deceit. One should be aware that the Allah of Muslim is not God even though they refer him as God of Abraham. There are many brothers the world over who can help anyone been attacked spiritually by any Muslim.

The other spiritual religions too which believe more in supernatural powers or try to scientifically explain creation, do not have a foundation to hold them up. We use science, historic and the very tools they use to attack our faith against them, but the greatest weapon against them all is the power of the Holy Spirit. When they experience the power of the Holy Spirit they have no words to explain.

Most people are fooled to think being simple minded Christians is what is necessary, we do not need to really get deep into things and leave it to people concern to do their job.

God says in the Bible His people suffer due to lack of knowledge (understanding). When there is an outbreak of infection one does not live a normal life, he or she takes extra precaution to every detail. Losing one's faith is not small as catching a cough or a little more serious as getting cancer or Aids but even more dangerous than that. These things can maximum take our physical life and harm our body but losing faith can destroy our spirit life. Our body lives max for a hundred to hundred and twenty years but our spirit life lives for thousands of years. We need to fear where our spirit will go after we die. Losing faith can cause our spirits to go to hell and suffer there for thousands of years.

Church we need to wake up and spiritually protect ourselves. If faith is our breastplate then without it we are dead. Do not be a simple mind; God did not give us the Spirit of Truth to be a simple mind. We need to be simple people in our way of life but spiritually we need to be rich in wisdom, understanding and other Fruits of the Holy Spirit.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You called us to be protectors of the faith and to be ready with answers to people of this world. Lord, we rebuke the deaf and dumb spirit which has enwrapped your people and making them victims to deceit. We pray Lord that they realize these are not normal times but time of spiritual war and they arm themselves if not to battle at least to protect themselves and their faith...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
