Rejoice always

Philippians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

When I got this scripture I was wondering what new the Lord wants to tell us today.

People when they preach they play the same record again and again as if the Kingdom of Heaven has gone bankrupt. If the Word of God is a gold mine we need to dig and dig and we are sure to find more and more precious things every time.

The word in the scripture given as 'alway' (always) is the Greek word pantote <3842>; it is a combination of two words - from <3956> and <3753> whose descriptions I have noted from the Lexicon.

<3956> pas
including all the forms of declension; TDNT-5:886,795; adj
AV-all 748, all things 170, every 117, all men 41, whosoever 31, everyone 28, whole 12, all manner of 11, every man 11, no + <3756> 9, every thing 7, any 7, whatsoever 6, whosoever + <3739> + <302> 3, always + <1223> 3, daily + <2250> 2, any thing 2, no + <3361> 2, not tr 7, misc 26; 1243

<3753> hote
from <3739> and <5037>; ; particle
AV-when 98, while 2, as soon as 2, after that 2, after 1, that 1; 106
1) when whenever, while, as long as

<3739> hos including feminine he hay, and neuter ho ho
probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article <3588>); ; pron
AV-which 418, whom 270, that 139, who 87, whose 52, what 40, that which 20, whereof 17, misc 346; 1389
1) who, which, what, that

<5037> te
a primary particle (enclitic) of connection or addition; ; particle
AV-and 130, both 36, then 2, whether 1, even 1, also 1, not tr 41; 212
1) not only ... but also
2) both ... and

(I gave you the study of the roots of just the word 'always' - this is the way the Word of God needs to be studied also - word study).

Now coming back to the message; in brief the message is - in every situation even if the result is good or bad the Word of God says rejoice.

For example, we may think why disasters are happening for example earthquakes. Now if you see the hints which Jesus gave us about the ends days, this was a step towards the end day (the Day of Judgment).

Mark 13:7-8
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

The steps are
    1) Rumors of wars (passed)
    2) Nations against nations - World wars (passed)
    3) Kingdom against kingdom - countries attacking each other (passed)
    4) Earthquakes - which have been happening often since 5-10 years (now and may continue)
    5) Famines - whose head has of now being raised (at the corner)
    6) Troubles - terrorisms of whom we have just seen a trailer and will grow into a bigger global level (at the corner)

This is not all the bad news, for these are beginning of the real worst times - the times of sorrow.

Do you feel happy about this?

But the Word of God says even then REJOICE for the time we and all generations before us have been waiting for is now more nearer.

Please note even during these times of disasters the people of God do not need to worry much. God will take them under His wings and keep them safe.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord God, You are Almighty God. You created this world and You have written the history of mankind. You know what is good for us and have given each and every one of us to make the choice to be saved. Lord God, we have chosen You through your Son Jesus Christ. Matthew 13:44
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
