The Lord has given victory unto us

Numbers 21:34 - And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

I got this message 2 days back and could not figure how to put this very important message. I could have easily put a few lines and made is very pleasing 'nice' message, put preferred to make it an effective message that causes some hard thinking and change. Today I will try to put some solid food in a digestible way for all, so that those used to solid food will go deeper and those on milk will get something.

Before we come to the message; when I first started understanding scriptures I realized not only every word in the Bible and its grammar made great importance, but even the names of people, places and what they symbolized played great importance to understand scriptures.

When I was reading the books of Moses I saw certain events were recorded a number of times in the various book while certain others were exclusive to a book. I also wondered why the books of Moses were in 5 parts and not just one or three. I knew there was something to this but could not put my finger on it. It was only when I came to know that the book of Psalms was also previously in 5 parts and the psalms were arranged in the book according to the background of the book of Moses. It was also during that time the Lord was teaching me on the soul / inner-man. It was then I realized the design of the books of Moses was done so that we learn the working of the inner-man.

There are many Christians even today who confuse between soul / inner-man (also referred as heart) with the spirit of man.

Like our body is made of different parts and organs so also is our soul / inner-man, it has a body which constitutes of 5 different parts with discernment (knowing good and bad of the world) connecting our inner-man to the senses of our physical body and conscience (knowing good and bad of the spirit world also known as 6th sense) connecting our inner-man to our spirit / spirit world.

Today's message speaks of the Israelites overcoming King Sihon and King Og. Among all the enemies Israel fought through the 40 years in the wilderness, these 2 kings are prominent, referred to many a times and across many books.

King Og was extraordinary and King Sihon ruled under his umbrella. King Og used to sleep while King Sihon did the ruling. When I came to know of who Satan is and who the Beast mentioned in Revelation is then I realized these 2 symbolized them (dragon who was put for a period while the beast ruled in his place). They are also known as the serpent and the young lion in Psalms 91 and also symbolized as Moloch and Chiun / Remphan in Amos 5 & Acts 7.

The word Satan in Greek 'Satanas' is a plural word. In Revelation other than the dragon two Greek words are translated as 'beast' one refers to a spirit and other to a living being (beast with horns), this living being is actually referring to the 'son of sin/ perdition' or the false prophet who causes man to worship the image of the 1st beast (spirit). I will not go deep into it but according to today's message the Lord has said He has delivered them unto us. This means we have all the ability in knowledge, wisdom, understanding and authority to overcome Satan(s). All we need to do is like the Israelites, abide by Lord's instruction and battle with this spiritual beings, for the Lord has given us victory. That does not mean tomorrow Satan will fall, it means slowly we will conquer territory after territory that is the hearts of men and one day he will be completely destroyed.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, when You created all things You had already set the way for the victory of Light over darkness. You made mere man to be the Light that overcomes the great heavenly powers that turned against You and caused darkness. Lord, You came as man and opened the door for us to overcome darkness by your Spirit and your Word. Lord, we pray that your people do not fear the powers of the evil one for You have delivered them unto us. Give us courage to battle these forces in this spiritual war...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Deuteronomy 3:11 - For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

Numbers 21:33-35

34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Fear him not: for I have delivered him into thy hand, and all his people, and his land; and thou shalt do to him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

Numbers 21:21-26
21 And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
22 Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders.
23 And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
24 And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
25 And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.
26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Revelation 13

Revelation 17:8 - The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
