Don't Entertain, Nor Ignore; Do Something Against It.

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5


One of the devil's biggest weapons is that of planting thoughts in your mind. They may not be things that look evil, but would be simple things that go against God's Word. And if he can get you to think about something long enough you will believe it and act on it. He also tries to plant thoughts of doubt, fear, pride, selfishness, worry, etc. in your mind. It's been said that the mind is the battleground. Therefore, you are going to have to do battle against those thoughts.

Most people's problem is that they just try to ignore them. Ignoring them doesn't work. The key to victory lies in the verse above. If you'll notice "casting" and "bringing into captive" are both action verbs -- that means you have to take action against those thoughts. You have to bring them captive. You have to renew your mind with God's Word. You have to rebuke them, move against them and put your faith to action. You have to not allow them to take root. Like the Word of God is a seed if it gets planted in our mind and takes root it brings life, similarly thoughts that go against God痴 Word are seeds and get rooted and bring death.

Don't make the mistake of allowing even a little thought to stay. Don't reason that it's just a small thought so it's not necessary to deal with it. Even the smallest amount of poison can still kill. Even a scratch can become infectious and kill a person. Small things have a way of becoming big if they aren't dealt with. So when you think those thoughts that are wrong... do something about them... and do it then!

Have a great day. Take those thoughts captive and don't allow them to stay!

Father God, we thank You for the beautiful minds You have given us. They are like fertile ground on which if we put any seed it takes root and bears fruit. Help us to uproot and burn every seed and every weed that goes against your Word and help us plant your Word to bring harvest to our lives. This we ask in Jesus' Name. Amen.
