Speak you the same thing

1 Corinthians 1:10 - (AV) Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Continuing the concern the Lord has with regards to our faithlessness and the divisions between us, due to our lack of faith and understanding of scriptures; in today's message the Lord is giving us steps towards overcoming our differences and divisions.

The greatest problem with the Church (not going into the problems with the shepherds of the Church) is the word 'doctrine'. The Greek word translated as doctrine means teaching. We need to first understand that there are no two persons having the same understanding of the Bible. One should not misunderstand this sentence of mine. It does not mean all have totally different understandings of the Bible. It means most people have a less or more understanding of the Bible. Thus if our understanding is less or more, there is sure to be a difference in the teachings that we give. So for the one who knows less the teachings he or she does not know becomes a different doctrine. Paul says we need to be clear of the basics of our belief and thereafter it is a process of learning for all of us depending on our exercising of faith.

In today's message the Lord is telling us even though we have different levels of understanding, our basics should be common and what we speak out to the people (congregation) should be the same.

There is a nice phrase which states when a person tells the truth he or she does not need to remember what he or she said the last time.

When people go to a Bible College they are taught less of the Bible and more of what he said and she said (wrote). It is amazing when people are quoting so called 'Bible scholars' who had a different understanding with some basic beliefs of the scriptures.

One would realize the Word of God started to move among the people when William Tyndale translated the original Hebrew and Greek test for the masses (people) in 1500s. He did not take different translation like that of Latin but stuck to the foundational scriptures.

When we speak what this or that person wrote or said about the Bible we will surely have differences but when we stick to what the Bible says then we will be of one mind and of one understanding.

Everything we speak of the Kingdom of God needs to be proven in scripture and when we do that then alone would we be of one mind speaking the same thing. I can assure you God did not miss anything that is necessary to know of His Kingdom that is not in the Word of God. It is only our lack of understanding that is restricting us from knowing it.

Let us take today's message of the Lord and everything we hear let us confirm them with scriptures. Let us not speak of things which we have not confirmed with in scriptures.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, man due to many reasons distorts the Truth. It may be due to their lack of understanding or they hiding the weakness of their flesh. Lord we ask You to cleanse your Church from people who distort the Truth on purpose and also ask You to heal the minds of those who are victims to the deceit. We ask You Lord for an outpouring of your Spirit of Wisdom on your people. Let them be of one mind and of one understanding, speaking the same thing...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
1 Corinthians 1:10-15
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

Acts 17:10-12
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

Hebrews 5:12-14; 6:1
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

1 Corinthians 13:9-12
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
