And the Lord forgives us zillions

Jeremiah 23:7,8 - Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

When we are to describe how great the Lord is, we always think about the great miracles, healings and all those supernatural things which our eyes and our ears could not believe and our senses could not imagine.

The Lord is telling us at the end the greatest thing which will be remembered will not be those moments which the Lord solved us problems, or healed us, or blessed us; but those moments wherein the Lord forgave us and bought us back unto Him. Being forgiven by the Lord is greater than anything in this creation which one can imagine.

This Sunday the preacher was preaching on the parable of how the King forgives his servant for ten thousand talents.

We need to know a talent was the highest denomination of currency and if one checks the scriptures right from Genesis the highest numeric count written is ten thousand. Even the words translated as millions is actually the word ten thousand. They did not have numbers like millions, billions etc. any number greater than ten thousand was multiplied by ten thousand.

If the Lord were to tell this number to us today it would be zillions, that how many times the Lord has forgiven and forgives us; that's how merciful our God is.

[ Prayer Starter ]
Lord, You are a merciful God. Even if You get angry, your mercy overcomes your anger. You forgive your people and we cannot thank You enough for your mercy. If it was not for your mercy we would have been consumed way back, like during the floods of Noah. We thank you again and again and for evermore for your mercy. We cannot take your mercy for granted but we pray that your mercy be always over us...

We make this prayer in Jesus' Name, Amen.

[ Reference Scriptures ]
Matthew 18:23-34
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

Genesis 24:60
60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions [ten thousands], and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
