Ask anything in My Name, I will do it

John 14:14 - If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

IThis scripture for most is like a blank cheque which they can use when ever they like and fill in whatever they want.

People may say it did work some times but the other times it did not. The reason it did not work is because it was not used according to instructions. The previous scripture clearly says that what ever we ask should also glorify the Son; that will surely be answered.

Does that means we can not ask for anything personal? No.

Whatever we ask should be good and according to the Kingdom of God. That means it should be for our progress not for our disaster, in body, spirit and soul. So the way we pray taking this promise should be different for example like Moses did in Exodus 33:12-13 when the Lord was very angry with the Israelites for they had greatly sinned. Even Jesus as man when He went through his most difficult moments prayed in the Name of the Father (John 17:5-11).

In the understanding of the Name of Jesus is the Name of the Father. So when we take the Name of Jesus we invoke the Name of the Father, thus by the Name of Jesus we get our prayer answered.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, You made me out of love for You want to prosper me. Father God, it is the nature in me that obstructs your light. Help me Lord to over come this nature so that I may live by your Name. You have called me your child, so let me blessed as your child and let the world know You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

John 14:11-14
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Exodus 33:12-15
12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

John 17:5-11
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
