Worship the Lord alone

Matthew 4:10 - ...Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Worship in Hebrew comes from the root word to bow or give reverence. It does not mean to give respect, it is compared to offering sweet incense. To understand true worship one needs to understand the perfume which was made according to the instructions given by the Lord in Exodus 30:34-38 (please download the teaching in pdf file format on the index for those who like to understand it).

God did not create us to worship Him, but we worship the Lord because we seek his Holy face. When we seek the Holy face of the Lord it rejuvenates life within us. All creation in heaven and on earth desire to worship Him because they experience this fountain of life burst within them.

Like the incense in Exodus 30:38 was not allowed for any other purpose for any other being, so also worship is exclusive to the Lord God. No human dead or alive, not being even in Heaven for example an Angel can be worshiped such a person is cut of from receiving the inheritance of the Lord. Even Jesus, when He was man on earth refrained people from worshiping or praying to Him.

[ Prayer Starter ]

Father God, I desire to worship You, that I may be before your Holy face at all time. May your face shine on me and may I experience your glory eternally. Teach me Lord to worship You in spirit and truth. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Exodus 30:34-38
34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:
35 And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:
36 And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.
37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.
38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others.
