Your Perfect Will Today (A poem / prayer)

Father we want only to do Your perfect will today,
so won't You please open a path and guide our way.

Put obstacles where You do not want us to go,
and give us discernment so Your perfect will we'll know.

The pleasing of our flesh matters absolutely not,
and in the conspiracies of the enemy we care not to be caught.

It is Your perfect will for us that we sincerely desire,
to that and only that is for what we aspire.

We've heard the saying the grass is greener on the other side,
but we'll only be happy if in Your will we abide.

We await Your guidance in good faith and love,
knowing the wisdom we need will come from above.

We feel encouraged by the assurances in the Word,
we know Father You answer every prayer heard.

We may not know ahead what You'll guide us to do,
but we know You are faithful and Your love is true.

We refuse to worry or doubt even the tiniest bit,
because You do have a plan and You'll soon reveal it.

We could dream and dream and imagine so much,
but to not seek to do Your will would be out of touch.

This life is but the twinkling of an eye in eternity,
and there's no place but in Your will for us that we'd rather be.

Take over today Lord guide and direct our every step,
nothing else matters more than Your desires for us being met.

The Word of God was given free to us, therefore we should also share it freely with others. (All rights are with God)
